A Long Road Is Almost Over

I know that this picture may be cheesy, but most of you who read this know what long, painful journey the CPA exam has been for me. For the most part (okay about 99%) the long and painfulness has been self inflicted, but I have now passed 3 parts of the CPA exam and this picture is the latest part! For whatever reason, BEC has been the hardest part for me to pass. I took it, and failed, multiple times. Today I took AUD. This is the part that I passed last April, but because I didn't pass the remaining three parts within 18 months it expired. I have refused to check the grades knowing that if it was below 75 I would be down and lower my chances of passing AUD today. Hopefully three weeks from now I will be a Certified Public Accountant and all of this will be behind me. Stay tuned for updates on the last remaining score. Until next time...

I Don't Know How They Do It

Let me just first say God bless all you single parents. That is not in any way complaining about it being just me and Cooper yesterday and this morning. I just can't imagine it being just me and Cooper all the time. I don't know how they remember everything. Things were going good this morning and then all of the sudden I am behind schedule. I don't know how it happened, it just happened. All this to say, thank you Allison for being such a great wife and a great mother. Below are some pictures from yesterday as I was playing with Cooper and then last night while he was asleep. Until next time...

Cooper has now figured that he can play with his trucks/trains by pushing them. He also loads them up with books and other stuff. It is so neat to see them learn.

I think my feet and legs would fall asleep if I was sleeping like this.

So that's why...

...his hair looks like that in the mornings. Sometimes when I get Cooper up in the morning it looks like he has been standing on his head while he was sleeping. I remember when we were kids, my brother's hair looked the same way when he woke up.
Also, Cooper went to the doctor today for his 15-month check-up. The doctor said everything seemed good. He has moved back down the scale in terms of height and weight. He is now down around the 13th percentile in both. Dr. Langone did not seem worried because he is on the same general curve that he has always been on. I guess we just have to keep in mind that he doesn't have the biggest mama in the world (but she sure is a great mama). Until next time...

Pics of Cooper

I have not posted any pictures of Cooper recently, mainly because I was too lazy to get them off of the camera and onto the computer. (I know, that's very sad) Here are some from the past few weeks. Enjoy!

Boy, my belly sure is full!

Verry nice, right?!

Man I love my mommy, and my bath!

Oh yeah, my papa is okay too!

Boy, that tickles.

Can't you tell what I am doing? My papa shuts doors like this sometimes too.

God Knows What We Need

I never cease to be amazed at how God knows exactly what we need, when we need it. As many of you know, our family was all sick at some point last weekend. Therefore, Allison and I didn't really get to spend much time together. This weekend I was supposed to go out of town to observe inventory counts for work at our Lexington store. Next weekend Allison is going out of town for a wedding shower. Needless to say, things weren't shaping up for a lot of time to be spent together over these next few weeks. However, I got a call Friday night that the inventory count had been cancelled for this weekend so I didn't have to go to Lexington. Perfect timing. Allison, Cooper, and I got to spend a lot of time together just hanging out. God is great! Until next time...

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers

Whew! Glad that is over. This morning Cooper and I got up and went to work/day-care at the normal time. Allison stayed in bed a little while longer, but got work at about 10:00. Thankfully we all made through the day without incident. Cooper and I appear to be 100% and Allison says she is not there yet, but she is close. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers. Until next time...

Wow, What a Weekend

If any of you read my last post it, was in reference to Cooper being sick. Well, he wasn't the only one. On Friday afternoon I started to feel a little "funny." I thought maybe it was what I had eaten, but by the time 4:00 rolled around I knew I was sick. I got in the car to come home praying that God would let me make it home before getting sick. That wasn't in the cards. Somewhere between Old Hickory Blvd. and Waldron Rd. on I-24 there is my former lunch box in a bag. No need to say anymore about that. I got home at about 4:45 and went straight to the bedroom. I didn't come out for more than 5 minutes until about 7:30 Saturday night. I started to feel better so I ate some soup and watched the Vols basketball game with Allison and the went to bed at about 9:30.

At 3:30 this morning Allison came in the room to tell me that she wasn't feeling well. So I got up, took a shower, washed the sheets, and used disinfectant wipes and spray so she could stay in our room until she felt better. Our roles were reversed as I took care of Cooper today as she has felt terrible all day.

So here we are Sunday evening at 6:35 and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Allison and I were talking earlier, and this is the first time anything like this has happened since we have been married, needless to say not since Cooper was been born. I guess sometimes you have weeks like these. Until next time...

Poor Little Guy

Today at about 10:30 we got an e-mail from the director of the daycare where Cooper goes. The e-mail said that several kids (3 out of 5 classrooms) had been vomitting and some had a fever. She said that if your child got sent home, do not bring them back until they have been without symptoms for at least 24 hours. As I read that I was thinking, "Hopefully Cooper will avoid sickness this time." No such luck.

At about 2:30 his teacher called. She said Cooper had just woke up from his nap and he had vomitted. When I got there he had vomitted again and she told me that it wasn't very much either time. Well, we got in the car and headed to get Allison at her office. We turned left on 2nd Ave. and I heard a weird noise. When I looked back at Cooper he had stuff coming out of his mouth. For any of you who have children that have had a stomach bug before, it is the most helpless feeling in the world. I felt like I was letting him down because he didn't understand what was going on and there was nothing I could do. When we go to Allison's building I tried to clean him up a little. That really didn't matter. Over the next 30 minutes he got sick 3 more times, all in the car. Each time I felt horrible and helpless.

After we got home he went to sleep. We got him up and fed him some crackers and Pedialyte. He held that down for a little bit, but eventually some of that came up too. We don't think all of it came back up, so we are encouraged that he is on the upswing. Please pray that he will start getting better. I just can't bear to see him struggling like that. With all the reflux and ear infection trouble he has had, this seems to affect me the most. As I said, I just feel helpless. Until next time...
