Saturday Morning Ballgame

This morning we went to see our niece, Natalie, play ball. We haven't seen her in a while, so it was great to see her and Tonya, her mom. It was a lot of fun and Cooper had a great time. I can't wait until I can get him out there to play.

Memorial Day Weekend - Part 2

Yesterday we went to my mom's house for a family cookout. When I say family, I mean lots of them. When we got to my mom's there were a lot of people there. Most of the time when we have a cookout at their house it is me, Alli, Cooper, my mom and pop, my brother and Charis, and Neecie, Tony, and their girls. Yesterday, in addition to all of the above mentioned, there was Suzie, my dad's sister and her husband David, Bill, my dad's brother and his wife Beth, Charis' mom Reba and stepdad Gary, my sister Amanda and her fiance Steve, and my mom's friend Barb, her husband Gene, and their grandson Hunter. It was fun and the food was really good. After we left there we went to Jared and Charis' house to see the almost-finished product. Allison, Charis, Nikki, my mom, and Neecie worked on the decorations and stuff while me, Jared, and PJ hung some shelves and moved the washer and dryer into the house. After we stopped working we played the Wii. I boxed PJ's and my brother's ears off and then Charis beat Jared, PJ, and Nikki in bowling with a turkey in the 10th frame. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures from their house, but here are some pictures from the cookout at mom's. Today we are going to Munna and Ninny's (Allison's grandparents)house. I will get some pictures from today's trip. Until next time...

I caught this picture of Cooper and Buford looking outside of a man walking his dog. They were both very interested and I thought it was a cute picture of the two of them. Until next time...

Memorial Day Weekend - Part 1

Saturday we went to Allison's mom's, Ninny, to visit before going out to Allison's aunt Beverly's house for a cookout. Below are some of the pictures from both stops. Yesterday we went to a cookout at my mom's and to check out Jared and Charis' new house. They have moved the majority of their stuff in and we were excited to see. Today we are going to Allison's grandparents house. I will post pictures of all events as I have time over the next day. Until then...

Wow, We Have a Full Day

For the last several weeks we have not really had that much to do on the weekend. I generally like it that way. Today we have several things scheduled. This morning we ran in a 5k as a family. It is one that we ran last year that is at the TN Baptist Children's Home. We really like this one because it benefits such a great organization and our friend Nick is on the committee for the race. Thanks Nick for all you do in getting this together, it was a great race.

Let me just say I am so proud of my wife. She ran a great race and finished in her personal best time. Her chip time was 27:07, but we were about 30 seconds behind the clock. She probably finished about 26:37.

Cooper and I finished in about 28:00 based on the clock when I finished, but unfortunately my chip time did not register. I think my time was probably about 27:30. After the 5k Cooper made his competitive debut by running in the 100 yd dash. He was probably the youngest one in the race, but he finished ahead of one or two places.

Later this afternoon, Allison and Cooper are going to the one year birthday celebration of one of our very best friends little girl, Lanie Ann.

At the same time I am going to the high school graduation of my cousin Emily. I really can't believe that she is graduating from high school. After that they are having a party at her parents house celebrating her graduation.

What a full day. I don't think we have had this much to do on one day in a long time. I will have pictures of the rest of our day later. Below are pictures from the race. Notice that all three of us have on our t-shirts given to us by our friends the Beck's. They are from Varsity Sports in Baton Rouge. Thanks a lot guys. Until next time...

Running and 5k's

Ten years ago I was finishing up my first year at Columbia State. At that time I felt like running was only something that someone made me do. Today I really enjoy running. It relieves stress, keeps me fit (sort of), and is something that Allison, me, and Cooper can all do together. Yesterday me and Nick ran in the Rescue 5k benefiting the Nashville Rescue Mission. I had the best time I have ever had after 2 miles and after 3.1. I finished in 28:16. Allison and Cooper went along and cheered us on between visiting the ducks at the pond at Centennial Park. Next Saturday all three of us are participating in the TN Run 4 Kids 5k at the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home in Brentwood. After the 5k there is a 1 mile run for kids 5-9 and a 100 yd. dash for kids up to 4. Cooper is making his competitive debut at the 100 yd. dash. If anyone in interested in running or walking in the race go here to sign up. There will be food, a Christian band playing during the event and lots of fun afterwards. Until next time...

Weather Fascination

I have always been fascinated with weather. I would look out windows at lightning and watch the weather channel's storm shows for hours. But I am not nearly as fascinated, or crazy, as these guys. This is about 4 minutes long, but the best shots are at the end.
