Vacation 2008

Well I didn't update while on vacation. Actually I didn't do much of anyhting that didn't have to do with vacation. I didn't check e-mail, didn't watch much TV, and didn't keep up with the news. However, I did have a great time while in Orange Beach. We went to the beach every day and really didn't do much else. We typically spent the morning to early afternoon on the beach. After that we would go up to the condo eat lunch and Cooper would take a nap. Allison and I would typically read and/or take a nap. Typically after that we would walk down to the beach and visit with our friends and then go to their condo for dinner. We had such a good time there and it was great to see our friends. Below are some of the pictures from the week.

We're Here

This is the view from our balcony.

Well we made it to Orange Beach last night. We left after work and got to the condo at about 12:15 last night. Cooper is having a great time so far and we are really excited. More to come as the week goes on...

Funny Video

Being a former catcher, there were several times I wanted to do this. I definitely had my share of issues with umps but I never had the nerve to act on my anger.

Unbelievable!

For the 14th time Tiger Woods has a 54 hole lead in a major championship. The past 13 times have ended in a major championship victory for Tiger. On Friday I told Allison that I was cheering for Lefty to win. That hasn't changed, but since he had a 9 on number 13 today and he is 13 strokes back, the chances of him winning are zero. Therefore, I will be in my chair cheering on Eldrick. Hopefully his knee holds up and he can hold onto his one stroke lead.

Swimming

Last weekend was the first chance that we had to take Cooper to the pool. We went for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. Cooper was hesitant at first on Saturday and then he really enjoyed it. On Sunday he seemed to like it from the very beginning. It was really fun and hopefully he will enjoy the beach next week. Below are a few pictures from last weekend.

New Blog

Several posts ago I mentioned the Bible study that we were in the middle of. The author of that study has a new blog that he started this week. You can see it here. In one of his posts there is a video from a church somewhere here in the Nashville area. It is 8 minutes long, but very powerful and definitely worth the time. In his post from yesterday we got another "Tough Saying of Jesus," which I definitely enjoyed reading. Until next time...

Cooper's First Hibachi Experience

Let's just say that his second won't be anytime soon. We thought he would really enjoy the "entertainment" that the cooks offer at a Japanese restaurant. Boy were we mistaken. Each time the cook created smoke or fire Cooper withdrew. A few times he even screamed. He was so terrified that he didn't really eat much. For any of you that have been around Cooper much, you know this is very unusual. The good thing was that it was a Monday night and there weren't many people there. The food was really good and Allison and I will definitely be going back. Next time we will just have to get a babysitter. Until next time...
